The policy for New Space has yet to be finalized. Meanwhile, the users are making their own decisions, which are not always technically justified. The failure rate of CubeSats deserves substantial improvement. The lack of stricter regulation creates more and more serious space debris issues. Active deorbiting of satellites is essential. Some progress in the deorbiting domain is present in the work.

Quantum entanglement is one of the many non-intuitive features of quantum mechanics. If two photons of light are allowed to properly interact with each other, they can become entangled. Those two entangled photons can then be separated, but as soon as one of them interacts with the third particle, the other photon of the pair will change its quantum state instantaneously.

In order to achieve this, the project manager leading a multidisciplinary team must find the optimal balance between component information availability (traceability, materials, testing, previous use…) and minimum tests to perform, reaching an acceptable level of reliability covering the technical, schedule and costing constraints.

One of the biggest cons of COTS is the plastic package. Plastic can cause outgassing, coating nearby components in chemicals that cause corrosion. Besides, the non-hermetic sealing can also allow humidity into packages, ultimately leading to corrosion of the semiconductor inside.
