CNES continue to make research to improve its knowledge on COTS reliability. For example, many parts are sensitive to radiations effects and in particular to single event latch-up that could affect the overall reliability of devices.
This presentation aims to provide the view of the different EUROSPACE members about the use of COTS in Space.
It is not intended to provide a unified view but to collect the different approaches and show divergencies and commonalities.
SME4SPACE is fully involved in all space-related tables and discussions both at ESA and European Commission levels, providing information and support to its members and SME and start-ups network. MoA renewed with ESA for further three years from May 2022 until June 2025.
The presentation will focus on EEE component manufacturer perspectives, component user perspectives, and data availability and accessibility on COTS (reliability, validation…) and its assessment.
In this presentation, you will have the opportunity to discover an overview of SATLANTIS' missions and milestones will be presented, showcase the use of COTS technologies.
In this presentation,, Alter Technology will present the novel integral COTS procurement approach, gathering all the characteristics we are currently developing and its applicability to different Small Satellites applications.
However, it is possible to think of a methodology based on the combination of prevention/mitigation engineering with component testing in a risk management context that allows to progressively optimize times and costs, even if we are talking about the traditional mission paradigm.
The presentation will summarize the project and conclude on the project outcome and lessons learnt. This includes TID and SEE testing results and the presentation of the formulated ad-hoc RHA approach for COTS components, providing guidelines for COTS testing for low-cost space missions.
