The CAN Workshop in Space 2019 presents a technical programme of articles describing the latest observations on embedded distributed systems and CAN network with a special focus on microcontrollers.
In its 3 days of exhibitions from 11 to 14 June, attendees will have numerous opportunities to establish contact with guests from academia, industry and space agencies.

The 2019 CAN in Space Workshop will include presentations on the physical and protocol layers of the CAN bus. With the arrival of qualified and, radiation-tolerant QML CAN bus transceivers, CAN-enabled microcontrollers and flight-tested IP CAN core, space communications engineers can now implement a CAN bus network for communications and controls aboard spacecraft of the same level of complexity as a terrestrial embedded CAN-based system.
A CAN bus system allows engineers to replace older and more complex cabling communications architectures with a two-wire CAN bus network. Reducing the number of cables and weight, along with lower power consumption and greater ease of testing, will result in significant cost savings for spacecraft manufacturers.
