SPACE IC
A privately held company which was founded begin of 2014 as a spin-off from Telefunken Semiconductors. The company is a fabless semiconductor supplier with proven expertise in developing radiation-hard analog IC products. For manufacturing SPACE IC works closely with experienced subcontractors and manages the complete qualification and production processes in compliance with the demanding quality requirements of space programs.
SPACE IC products are designed to operate in harsh environments. The achieved robustness and radiation hardness are a result of a robust circuit design without combined with a fully isolated high voltage BCD SOI technology which is latch-up immune and known to mitigate Single Event Effects (SEE). All SPACE IC products have been Total Ionization Dose (TID) and Single Event Effects (SEE) radiation tested.
The products are offered in well-established hermetic ceramic packages suitable for space applications, being developed and manufactured in Germany, so that, they can be delivered ITAR/EAR-free worldwide.
SPACE IC components are delivered with full screening according to ESCC and are subject to ESCC qualification in close cooperation with ESA. The SPPL12420RH point-of-load converter IC is in ESCC certification in the frame of the National Space Program of the DLR e.V. and is listed in the European Preferred Parts List (EPPL) part 2.

Quad LVDS Driver and Receiver: SPLVDS031RH & SPLVDS032RH
The SPLVDS031RH and SPLVDS032RH are a pair of radiation hardened 400 Mbps quad LVDS line drivers and receivers optimized for highspeed, low power, low noise transmission over controlled impedance (100 Ω) transmission media (e.g. cables, printed circuit board traces, backplanes). The supported wide common mode voltage range of -7 V to +12 V makes them the perfect choice for robust box-to-box communication in noisy environments.
QUAD LVDS DRIVER SPLVDS031RH
The SPLVDS031RH is radiation hardened 400 Mbps Quad LVDS (low voltage differential signaling) Line, Driver.
The SPLVDS031RH accepts four LVCMOS/LVTTL signals and translates them to four LVDS signals. Its differential outputs can be disabled and put in a high-impedance state via two enable pins, OE and OE*.
The SPLVDS031RH is offered in 16-lead flatpack package and operates over an extended -40 °C to +125 °C temperature range.
Features:
- DC to 400 Mbps / 200 MHz low noise, low skew, low power operation
- 300 ps (max) channel-to-channel skew
- 250 ps (max) pulse skew
- 23 mA (max) power supply current
- LVDS outputs conform to TIA/EIA-644-A standard
Radiation hardness:
- TID > 100 krad (Si)
- SEE (except SET): LET > 60 MeV / (mg/cm²)
- SET: LET > 35 MeV / (mg/cm²)
- Latch-up immune due to dielectric isolation
QUAD LVDS RECEIVER SPLVDS032RH
The SPLVDS032RH is radiation hardened 400 Mbps Quad LVDS (low voltage differential signaling) Line Receiver
The SPLVDS032RH accepts four LVDS signals and translates them to four LVCMOS signals. The outputs can be disabled and put in a high-impedance state via two enable pins, OE and OE*. A fail-safe feature sets the outputs to a high state when both inputs are open or undriven.
The SPLVDS032RH is offered in 16-lead flatpack package and operates over an extended -40 °C to +125 °C temperature range.
Features:
- DC to 400 Mbps / 200 MHz low noise, low skew, low power operation
- 400 ps (max) channel-to-channel skew
- 300 ps (max) pulse skew
- 7 mA (max) power supply current
- LVDS inputs conform to TIA/EIA-644-A standard
- Extended input common mode voltage range: -7 V to +12 V
Radiation hardness:
- TID > 100 krad (Si)
- SEE (except SET): LET > 60 MeV / (mg/cm²)
- SET: LET > 35 MeV / (mg/cm²)
- Latch-up immune due to dielectric isolation
Point of Load Converter: SPPL12420RH
The SPPL12420RH is radiation hardened monolithic synchronous buck regulator featuring integrated 110 mΩ MOSFETs that provide continuous 2 A output load current. It operates over a wide 4.5 V to 24 V input voltage range and provides an output voltage from 0.923 V to 21 V at up to 93% efficiency. Its current mode control circuitry provides a fast transient response and cycle-by-cycle current limit.
The device is packaged in a hermetically sealed 16-pin flatpack with heatsink and straight leads
The SPPL12420RH enables efficient and space saving solutions in point-of-load (POL) architectures and is listed in ESA PPL part 2
