The only way to guarantee the anonymity of a key is to use the laws of quantum physics through Quantum Key Distribution systems. Cryptographic algorithm systems based on keys to encrypt or decrypt messages can be classified into two groups.

The lab through a free-space quantum key distribution experiment which makes use of the decoy-state protocol. A lower bound secure key rate of the order of 1.82 Mbps and a quantum bit error ratio as low as 1.14×10−2 and 93 bps for an equivalent attenuation of 35 dB were achieved.
