Are automotive components reliable and superior vs other COTS?
There is a trend to push toward using Automotive Grade 0, 1 EEE Components as preferred vs. Industrial Grade EEE Components.
This is OK, pending the user is familiarity with the real delta-added value between the above grades. Nevertheless, the right selection should not be based on hasty generalization.
The presentation walks through the AEC-Q100 (ICs) document, highlighting points to be scrutinized before making an educated decision.
The self-awarded status “AEC-Q100” qualified is not a magic term to ensure the space wanted reliability.
